HOGRAOST is a camping weekend of fun, music, food and adventure held in many previous years near Andover Hampshire but this year it's in Buxton in the Peak District. This event has been run for more years than we can remember by Steve aka 'Bakerman' in conjunction with the UKGSER.com
web forum. It's gone from strength to strength over the years and not only has it been lots of fun but it has helped to raise funds for local charities.
Steve hung up his Hogroast apron at the end of 2015 but the event lives on and this year it's the Hogroast 'resurrection shuffle' moving up to Buxton in the beautiful Peak District.
Originally an event for owners of the very ugly (beautiful?) BMW GS motorcycle, the event’s popularity has meant it is open to all-comers, though the events program makes it ideally suitable to owners of adventure type bikes.
Yes indeedy, though the camping facilities are excellent, day visitors are welcome. There are lots of hotel/B&B and AirBnB accommodation in the area.
The camping facilities are excellent for tents and motorcycles. there will be limited hard standing is available for 4 wheeled visitors so please contact the organisers before booking to ensure space for your vehicle. Only motorcycles will be permitted on the grass camping areas. There is a local touring campsite Clover Fields Touring Park across the road from the Hogroast North venue which may be able to accommodate caravans and mobile homes.
